Radio not recognizing the ignition
I am pulling my hair out and needing some help. My 2008 E350 radio currently cannot be controlled by the steering wheel. Additionally, it shuts off every 30 minutes, but prior to that it says "start ignition or will shutoff". This is while the ignition is on. It seems like the Radio is not sensing the ignition being on like, they are not talking. I saw one post that described almost exactly what I am experiencing and the fix was to completely remove the factory installed IPOD kit. I am happy to try that, especially since I have never used it, but cannot find detailed instructions anywhere?
I am open to any suggestions and in the DFW area, so happy for any suggestions on where to bring it to troubleshoot/fix.
