AC Problem

Just started having problems with the A/C and would like to know if anyone has expericed the same issue. When I turned on the a/c today, the a/c off message just kept flashing. The fan came on and seemed to work well based on selected speeds except the air did not get cool. Coming to think about it, I do not recall hearing the normally loud compressor come on.

Has anyone experienced the same problem and if so, what was the fix? In order to get a loaner for my wife, I have to wait until next Wednesday to take it in.

If by normally loud you really mean the COMPRESSOR is loud, you might have blown a bad compressor...If you mean the auxiliary radiator fan is loud, (like a leaf blower) thats another thing. The compressor is NOT loud. The auxiliary fan IS LOUD.

I believe I stand corrected in referring to the compressor as being loud. What I didn't hear come on is the loud fan that sounds like a jet engine at full throttle getting ready for takeoff.

I thought I remember hearing someone on the boards with this problem. Don't remember the resolution, but call your dealer and set up an appointment.

My A/C problem has been fixed. A leaking condenser was found and replaced.

I just picked up a E500 on Thursday and also have problems with the AC. I have the automatic air I can't seem to turn it off. If I press the AC-off button (not the zero) the system shows AC off. However cold air still comes out of the vents. Not sure what's going on here, any suggestions?

As posted in another thread, the compressor also runs based upon humidity levels, and also gradually turns off when A/C off is pressed. Normal.
