Unhappy Limp mode problem

I have a 2006 E280CDI. There was a small oil leak at the turbo intake, that according to my mechanic caused a swirl flap motor fault, error code 2513. I have installed a 4.7 kohm resistor into the sensor plug for the flaps. According to all the information and videos on Youtube. That did not help. The car runs fine when engine is cold. As soon as it gets hot, it goes into limp mode. Check engine light comes and goes periodically.
Is there anything else to check or do? Should the old error codes be cleaned? Do the old codes cause the limp mode, or is limp mode caused by new fresh error codes coming from somewhere? I do not have the diagnostic tool myself.
Thanks for any help!

Pull codes, report back. You need to be able to talk to the car if you want to work on it.

Thank you for replying! I understand that reading the codes is essential. In this case, it had the 2513 code, meaning swirl flap failure. My question is mostly of principle, to better understand how things work: If a sensor signals a problem to the ECU with an error code, and the error is fixed, will the stored error still cause limp mode and motor check lamp until the ECU is cleaned? Or does the lamp and limp mode mean that a sensor still sends continous error signals to the ECU? Of course, I will go to a garage to have the codes pulled once again.

Depends on the car. Once the code issue is resolved, codes usually clear themselves after a number of drive cycles.

On my e320 cdi the flaps were broken and they were closed on the intake. I had them deleted as well no codes but ran terrible. When I removed the intake to change it(changed to a European style without swirl flaps) I saw how most of the swirl flaps were seized closed causing the Car to run terrible. After the intake was changed it ran just like new. Not sure if there is a way to check their position without removing the intake though.

Thank you! The car runs great in between, and that tells me that the motorlamp and limpmode (comes and goes) is caused by a sensor or signal not crucial to how the car works.

2005 e320 CDI
I have a 2005 e320 CDI that has had a new ABS module installed and fixed the stop light sign but the car still continues to go into limp mode. ABS, ESP, and Check engine light all come on and the car goes into limp mode and tight steering. The car has a new brake light switch and sensors. The car has been to a mercedes dealer several times and a private mechanic. The last mechanic pulled codes from it and they are 2513, 2209, 2241, 2227. Can someone please help me get this freaking thing fixed because I am out $1,200 and still no fix.
