*Getting installed in 2 days: Replacing stock COMAND head unit with a touchscreen JVC CarPlay/Android Auto compatible unit. The car has the premium Harmon Kardon sound system option with an amp and subwoofer, all of which be retained and used with the new head unit. Update below
I will continue to update this with any future upgrades as well. I'm thinking maybe an E55 rear bumper/diffuser setup with the chrome dual exhaust tips next

Update: Head Unit now installed. Had a few wiring hiccups along the way but it all works flawlessly now running off the OEM Amp and stock HK speakers.

I have the exact same car and I'm debating over installing a new head unit or getting the Mr. 12volt bluetooth accessory. What did you need to install your HU? What did you use for your fiber optic connection?
Awesome! Please post what you purchased/needed to install your head unit and keep everything else functioning (and your solution for the USB port in the ashtray). Does your door still open where the cd changer would sit?
