How to lock engine
How do you lock the engine to torque the crankshaft pulley bolt on a 270cdi?

They make a Tool that grabs flywheel starter gear teeth might work. Kind of generic as works on pretty much any engine.

If not, with engine connected to tranny and put in park and car on tires and nice and slowly torq bolt

Thank you, I don't think puting the tranny in park locks it to the engine, only to the back wheels. The engine can still turn freely in park.
