Interesting site with some good links.
Strange that NOBODY has any pics of the W211-E55AMG. Just same old body kit, dual exhausts and wheel pictures. Of course given MB's stealth treatment for their AMG models, I don't expect much beyond the dual/dual exhausts and badging to distinguish the E55 from the E500 Sport.

THE biggest flaw in the design of the 210, for me, has always been the dash/console design. Extremely dated looking, even when it was introduced.
The Japanese have long done the best job of making the dash/console flow and look integrated. Then, with the advent of the current 5 series, BMW made a leap forward in that regard with a very nice design.
Audi and Porsche still lag terribly in this regard.
I don't spend much time looking at the outside of my cars. I ALWAYS have a view of the interior, so I'd like it to be as appealing as possible.
The W211 is a big step forward, a step in the right direction IMO. Same with the R230. Very nice layout.
BTW, the new 7 series was a major step BACKWARD in interior design IMO. I was shocked, I had expected something cutting edge, something to raise the bar. Major mistake on that one.
