Does ISO Certified & Quality Assured OEM Quality mean anything?

Toying with the idea of replacing all of the front suspension linkages myself rather than get taken advantage of by a garage, only problem being that complete kits sell from £200 to £700+, many of the cheaper ones claiming "ISO Certified & Quality Assured OEM Quality", does this actually mean anything or is it just the usual ebay sales nonsense? I'd rather not replace it all again in 10000 miles or end up at the bottom of a ravine because something failed.

Nope, doesn't mean shlt. That said, I've used a lot of cheap Chinese suspension parts and they all seem to be holding up well.

With the money you save doing the work yourself, why not invest into getting quality OEM parts?

Because even quality OEM suspension parts purchased at the dealer are also made in China.

I wouldn't bother with parts on eBay. Just get a knock off copy of the EPC/WIS on eBay so you can look up the part numbers yourself and order from reputable vendors. Lots of those parts on eBay are fakes and are low priced for a reason.

I second the opinions on this forum that say buy OEM, from quality brands, or from proven vendors. Especially in the case of suspension, brake, or drivetrain parts, and especially if you do your own work. You don't want to put your hard work, money, and safety at risk. The thought of 'will it fail?" is ever present.
