2007 E280 Elegance vs 2008 CLK280 Avantgarde
Hey guys, I've got a 2008 (MY2009) CLK280 with the AMG kit (17" wheels, sports suspension, body kit) which is the first Merc I've ever owned and it's made me a Mercedes man for life. My car only has 63,000km on the clock.
I've been eyeing a late year (post balance shaft issue) facelift W211 as a replacement however because I wouldn't mind something with a bit more comfort and I've heard the E class platform should generally drive a lot more comfortably compared to the C Class based W209.
I've found an actually lower km 2007 (MY2008) E280 Elegance for sale and would like people opinions on whether or not it would be a good move and what I could expect from moving from the CLK280 with it's sports suspension to a more comfort oriented E280. I won't get a chance to drive it for a few more days so in the meantime I wouldn't mind peoples opinion here!
Is there anything I'll miss from making such a switch? Is the E class platform that much better than the CLK platform to the point where it's noticeable?
Since it's a 2007 model I checked the engine number which is 272943 30 732739. I believe that falls into the range of safe from balance shaft issues?
