Question about CL Grille installation

Question Question about CL Grille installation
Hi, I like the look of cl grille on E-class, but I am hesistate to buy it becoz of the installation. How hard is it to install the grille and will it cause any problem ?
I am plannin to buy the flat emblem hood and the cl grille.

Both were very easy to install. I posted this on the "flat hood emblem" thread as well - I bought the flat emblem and CL grille from Jerry at formymercedes.com. Installation probably took no more than 20-25 minutes, and I'm not very mechanical. I have one of those multi-piece wrench sets and that's all it took. You'll also need to save some of the clips from the OEM grille to put back on the new one - other than that it's really easy!

I went through the same process... and I am SOOOOOOOO not mechanically inclined. 15 minutes tops!

One piece of advise: be very careful when removing the hood emblem so as not to scratch the hood.

Hold the part that sticks out above the hood with one hand while you rotate the locking sleeve (or whatever it's called) under the hood with the other. Or, enlist a co-conspirator to hold the emblem while you work the pliers.

I purchased my grill and flat hood emblem through Jerry at formercedes.com. I highly recommend the flat hood emblem with the new grill, otherwise the original hood emblem will steal the view from the new grill. After you remove the original grill, make sure that you remove the clips (for the screws) from the old grill, then put onto the new grill. Another thing, Jerry recommends put clear silicone under the new emblem for a watertight seal. Excess dried silicone around the flat emblem or hood can be rubbed off using a soft cloth after several hours.

For some reason I cannot remove the clips from the OEM grill (the middle section seems to be jammed downward). Is there any specific removal process that anyone can share? Thanks.
