W211 headunit install questions
Hi all
I've just bought an Alpine iLX-W650E headunit to fit into my E280.
Aerpro makes a number of different patch leads. I'm unsure as to what I need. See https://aerpro.com/vehicles/mercedes...w211-2002-2009
What is Quadlock compared to Fibre-Optic? I would like to retain the steering wheel controls.
Any advice appreciated.

Anyone? I'm getting a guy at a local auto install shop to pull the centre dash apart to see what adaptors are needed. It's booked in for next Thursday 20 Jan.

Enfig car stereo has adapters that retains steering wheel controls. I have one installed on mine with an aftermarket pioneer dmx1057. You have to remove the panel under the steering wheel to access the canbus wires and tap into it.
