ive been having an issue with my 2003 E220cdi W211 estate , the sbc pump will run every so often when left over night. the key isnt in the car and its locked. i took it to an indy who couldn't figure it out. i have replaced the following:
main battery
aux battery
alternator
but it seems to have made no difference, as if which ever ecu runs the pump is not shutting down. this is causing battery drain issues for me.
its seems to be worse in the winter
car has 204,000 miles on it
this is part of the indy's report:
CARRIED OUT CURRENT DRAW TEST AND FOUND A DRAW WHICH KEPT FLUCTUATING, REMOVED ALL FUSED COMPONENTS AND DRAW
WAS STILL THERE.
CHARGED BATTERY UP AND CHECKED OVER A FEW DAYS, FOUND WHEN CAR WAS LEFT IDLE THAT THE 'SBC' BRAKE SYSTEM WOULD
PRIME WHEN IT SHOULD NOT AND THAT THE 'ICM' DISPLAY WOULD COME ON FOR A WHILE AND THEN GO OUT.
LOTS OF SOFTWARE UPDATES AVAILABLE
'CGW' UPDATE AVAILABLE (CENTRAL GATEWAY)
FAULTS WITH 'CAN' (CONTROLLER AREA NETWORK) TO 'BCM' (BATTERY CONTROL MODULE)
POSSIBLE FAULT WITH FRONT 'SAM' (SIGNAL ACQUISITION MODULE)
CURRENT FAULT WITH AC CONTROL UNIT WITH ALTERNATOR
i would have left it with the indy but they took 2 weeks to do the minimal work and i lost faith in their abilities
