W211 E500 4matic

Hello comrades. I own a w211 E500 4matic, year 2005. The car is in excellent condition, but I noticed recently that the air compressor works constantly, and when I apply the brakes or stop, it stops working even though the system works correctly and there is no air leakage, but when I stop the car after turning it off I hear the sound of air coming out of The upper side on the left front wheel, what is the solution to this problem or the expected malfunction?

It shouldn't run constantly. It will burn out. The sound may be a leak. Are you sure it's the compressor?

The pump works most of the time and when I stop or apply the brakes the pump stops working, knowing that I live in a city with good streets and no potholes

Leak location

So a lot of the time the leak is actually at the pump itself. Lift the car up and check out the lines going to and from the compressor. I guarantee one of the lines is cracked.
they way the car was made the lines bend too much causing the rubber to crack.
I went to my local hardware store and got new lines to replace the damaged ones. Problem never came back.

good luck
