ESP error w211 E240

Esp pops up on occasion through the HUD
there after the acceleration pedal stops working
display : ESP defective visit workshop!
Possible fixes other than disabling the ESP and abs?

Scan the codes or get them scanned.

When the ESP issue arose for me, the car went into limp mode or became inoperable. I regret to tell you that when this happened on my 2007 E350 4matic Wagon at about 110,000 miles, my service advisor and head technician explored it and confirmed the ECU had to be replaced. Fine since now up to 245,200

There are many possible causes for an ESP error, brake light switch, wheel speed sensor, magnetic ring, steering angle sensor, yaw sensor etc. You need a scanner that can get MB specific codes. A regular OBDII scanner only does engine and emissions codes and you won't get any codes out it to help you out unless you get one that does MB specific codes. They're not that expensive, a cheap one is actually the Thinkcar Pro. About $48 on Aliexpress or about $45 on Amazon. There are many others out there, Autel AP200, iCarsoft, Foxwell, etc. but they're usually a little bit more.
