2007 E350 4matic Wagon
ABS, ESC lights on

Yeah, so a month or so ago when I was on the interstate the dash lit up like a Christmas tree (abs, esc, stability control, traction control, etc.), cruise turned off. When I shut the car off and restarted all went away. This happened again a couple days later. It was cold and snowy when this occurred. A few days after that, ABS and esc came on immediately when the car is started, won't go away. Steering is stiff, cruise doesn't work. Scanned and found following codes: 44E8 (undefined), 44F2 (undefined), 7266 (undefined), and 7270 (1.DTR: Test wheel speed signals. 2. DTR: CAN communication with control unit engine management is sporadically disturbed.) Oh yeah, my car is a 2007 e350 4matic wagon with 205k miles. I took off both rear wheels and checked the sensors, not dirty, damaged, etc. No signs of damage or bad connections. HELP!

Have you scanned with star or equivalent? If using star there would not be nearly so many undefined codes. For what it's worth the same thing happened to my 99 and the cause was a bad can bus transceiver in the instrument cluster. Replace the instrument cluster in all problems went away. But since I was using star, however, it pointed me right to the instrument cluster iand ECU communications.

Have to scan it but most commonly a brake pedal sensor or wheel speed sensor.

If sensors look fine could be pulse (reluctor) ring.

Also note if purchasing new current rear axle shaft part # is 2113500002.

And if it's the ring or sensor, only get MB parts, lots of stories on here about people replacing them with aftermarket parts and they still don't work right, especially the ring.

Thanks for the info, guys. I'm going to get it properly scanned soon, just been too busy. As soon as I have it sorted, I'll let you know!
