BACKGROUD - Repeated code 2633 on 2007 W211 OM642. No leaks in the charge air system (smoke & pressure tested). Cleaning the MAF sensors clear the code for 1000 miles or so, but it always comes back. Replaced all components between crankcase and turbo (PCV, breather assembly, crank case cover, MAF assembly). My mechanic suggested I try an oil catch can.
ATTEMPT1: Installed a catch can by Tracy Lewis Performance. The install was clean/easy and did not require cutting the breather hose or modifying the bonnet. I only did the 'dirty side' install but that seems to be sufficient. The catch can is definitely collecting oil which is probably a good thing, but code 2633 did come back after ~2000 miles.
ATTEMPT2: I just replaced the turbo seals and noticed that there was a small exhaust leak rear of the turbo - hoping that might be contributing to code 2633?
