OM648 Direct Fit Turbo Upgrade?
Looks like my turbo is making noise.
Car is 2005 E320 CDI (United States)
There's a reman stock replacement available for $1300+core.
Are there "one step" direct fit upgrades available?
That is, I don't need a huge turbo... far from it. I just want a responsive punchy daily driver. Thus I'm only looking for one step bigger than stock... Although a stock size unit with a ball bearing center might fit the bill as well.
I understand that I'll need a tune to actually take advantage of it.
I don't have a tune now, and actually won't for a while... although judging by the way the EPA is working, maybe I should bump the priority on that...
