2008 e350 base rwd. 188k miles. Runs fine. Changed spark plugs 19k miles ago. Plugs were Bought from ebay. Recently felt engine misfire. Bought new plugs (from ebay again. Different seller).

wonders if the worn plugs were counterfeit ones. That’s why it didn’t last long. When new they looked authentic though. Tks for any feedbacks.

I would suspect counterfeit. Same thing happened to me. I bought so-called double-platinum name-brand plugs on sale (price was unbelievable; 16 plugs for $41 after rebate.). Mis-fires occurred just 34,000 miles after installation and gap across plugs was consistently 0.080" versus installed spec of 0.039".

Never again. Since then, only the specified Bosch plugs from reliable sellers go in my cars. 90,000 miles on the current set of Bosch plugs on the 2005 E55; 64,000 miles on the current set of Bosch plugs in the 1999 E55.

Buy OEM plugs from the dealer.

Pay the price to do it right.

The color of the electrode looks almost ok, but it's very round. My understanding is that electrical current (spark) passes most efficiently between sharp vs rounded corners/edges. So the lefties would not qualify as efficient conductors.
