Idler pulleys

What is your experience with idler pulley's on your W211? Have you needed to change them - which ones and at what mileage? Is it an easy DIY or more involved? Any links to the procedure and tools needed will be much appreciated.

how many miles on your CDI? I had one pulley go bad at 141875, so I. replaced both of them. The tensioner was bad at 141,150 mi. You need a T60 bit and a serpentine belt tool which you can rent for free at advance auto parts, you put a down payment if you don’t bring it back within a month you automatically buy it. I have used a mirror to line up the T 60 bit on the tensioner, but now I use an inspection camera. Once the belt is off, check both pulleys to see if there’s wobble, the same with the tensioner, but on the tensioner pulley may be good but the Pivot bearing may be bad which will hold the pulley at the wrong angle (square, in line). If you’re missing ribs in your belt then you need to replace the tensioner as well.
