SRS light - seat belt buckle (Clear code help)
My SRS light and "SRS Malfunction Visit Workshop" popped up and I realized that my driver side belt buckle was the issue. As we all know, when we are driving and you take off your seat belt for a second or you drive away without buckling up, the red seat belt light by the tach illuminates as well as that annoying beeping that gradually gets faster. My car would no longer do those things so I went ahead and ordered a new belt buckle and an icarsoft MB V2.0 to clear the light upon repair.
Well, the repair is done and I only received one bloody middle finger for the effort. Now after plugging in the icarsoft MB V2.0 it is showing a bunch of faults under the SRS menu however, they are all "Historic" codes meaning there are no current active SRS issues. When I try to clear the codes, I get "failed to complete erase operation", so I'm stumped at this point on how the heck I can clear the "Historic" codes and get the SRS red light and "Visit Workshop" off the cluster.
Thoughts or suggestions? I'll buy another frickin' tool before I head to the dealer!!!!!

Seems like there's something wrong with your icarsoft. There's a few other scanners out there, Autel AP200, Thinkcar Pro etc. Also are you sure you really repaired your seatbelt? Could be something else wrong with it. Also not familiar with icarsoft but are you scanning it with the engine running or off? That might also make a difference. The internal mechanism might also be damaged, not just the buckle.

I've tried erasing the codes with both engine off / ignition on and engine running with no success.
Upon reading some reviews on Amazon, for some reason, it appears the cheaper icarsoft i980 has what it takes to clear the SRS light, with even one person mentioning that they first purchased the icarsoft MB II (which is one model older than my V2.0) and that would NOT clear the malfunction but the i980 did.
I went ahead and ordered the i980, so I will come back to update once delivered and I give it a try.
