W 211 Engine Mount Replacement
My MB 2008 Bluetec need an engine mount replacement.
I saw many threads about doing this job but some involving removal of the exhaust and other involving removal of the alternator and other involving the removal of both.
Some guys talk about working from under the car without removing the air filters.
Are there any easier method?

You are lucky with a 4Matic - the front engine mounts can be changed through the wheel wells without even removing the wheels. The wheel well liners should come off, but with a little bending they don´t even need to I guess. There are cut-outs in the liners just where the mounts are positioned (of course a tiny bit smaller than the mounts so they can charge more at the dealership). I once uploaded a YouTube video on this topic (just search for "W211 4matic engine mount replacement").
Didn´t change the rear mount yet but it seems to be accessible between the exhaust pipes. Be aware that part numbers are different dependent on the engine, and for the 4Matics as well. It´s 211 240 37 17 for both front mounts on my Europe spec E500 (which actually is a E550, so double-check that).
