Question about lower front grille
Guys
I have a 2003 peweter metallic E500 and will install the silver CL grille on it. I am thinking about painting the lower grille silver as well. However, one of the sides (next to the left fog light) is filled in and has a small whole in it (rather than being a plastic mesh) - see the picture.
Any idea why and can I buy a replacement that is all mesh? Can I maybe cut the plastic inside the little squares?

Sergiu,
That solid area in the lower grill is to cover the tow fitting. If you pop the cover off, there is a threaded hole under it where the eye-bolt will screw in so you can tow the car.

I'll try to pop it tomorrow - would it look bad if the piece of plastic has holes in it? Also, there is a removable square in the bumper right below the same fog light where I thought the towing hook goes - what's under there in that case?
