05 E Class COMAND in 04 E Class
Since the new 05 radios play MP3's and DVD's, can you put the 05 radio in an 04. If so how would I go about doing that?

There is quite a bit of information on the net about the MOST system now in use. It's the closest thing to a vendor-independent standard for car audio I've ever seen. You can read more about it at this link.
I suspect the wire routing issue is simply a different harness for cars with different consoles. (I'm still holding out for a swap to the old-style console after I take delivery in November. Heck, I know how to splice fiber...)

Actually I believe the w211 uses a MOST ring network for it's audio and communication modules connected to CANBUS from the AGW. This design hasn't changed from the beginning. Please correct me if I am mistaken.
