Airmatic and alignment

Peeps

Getting my new wheels soon and I think I need to perform alignment after they are on. My car is a 2003 E500 (airmatic suspension). Does anyone see any issues with doing it at a tire shop rather than the dealer? They claim they have "state of the art" equipment and blah blah, the only question I have is if having the airmatic suspension changes the alignment procedure.

Obviously, doing it at the dealer is better, but I am strictly interested if someone not familiar with the airmatic suspension can do something wrong? Or is alignement alignement and has nothing to do with the airmatic? As you can see, I'm extremely knowledgeable

Thanks,
Sergiu

I know, that would be recommended (doing it at the dealer). However, my question was if the airmatic suspension has anything to do with the alignment.

Yes, you need a Romess electronic inclinometer to perform an alignment (or to lower it with the Star Diagnosis). Usually an alignment shop will not have this unless they specialize in W211/W215/W220.
