2005 e280 counter balanced fixed! Now c249f code

Hello, I purchased a 2005 e280 w211 with the m272 motor, after having the engine out for about a year I finally replaced the counter balance shaft and dropped the engine back in.

After a handful of issues, I've got everything set up and ready too go

The only issue I have is the renown c249f code has come up on the car, thing is the car only has 90,000ks on it and it wasn't showing this code before i pulled the engine.

We tried too use the sbc reset unit on 25% but I get is a green busy unit that never turns off

I'm at the end of this journey here and I could really use some help
Cheers

What country are you in? In the US, there's a 25 year extended warranty on the SBC and when you get that code, MB usually replaces the pump or fixes whatever that is under warranty. That might not be the case in other countries though. It's best not to reset it, basically means the pump reached a certain number and may fail anytime after that. Then when you don't have an SBC pump, then you lose about 90% of your braking power and other people basically say it feels like 100% and you will need a fresh set of underwear if you survive the experience. It's not based on mileage, it's a counter on how many times the brakes have kicked in so it's just a rough estimate. Being mechanical, you don't really know when it will fail. But when it does, it's sudden. You've been warned.

I'm based in Australia, the thing is it didn't have this before the engine was put back in, im fairly confident its not a real code as it might just be a gremlin, however I will look up the warranty for the part
