Battery, visit workshop message.
Hi all,
I got the dreaded red battery, visit workshop message starting about 6 months ago.
Since my big main battery had been replaced when I got the car (3 years ago in May), I had a fair inkling that it would be the auxiliary battery on its way out.
Starting the car and going for a run would invariably see the fault go away, but the last couple of times it hasn’t.
Bought a new AGM replacement auxiliary battery, which arrived today. Had decided to put the old one on charge, using the ‘pulse/repair mode of my battery charger. Started the car today and had no error message!!
Only thing is the aux battery is a Mercedes one and has a date stamp of 25 16 on it. So I am assuming that it is not far off 7 years old!
Im still going to put the new one in, but am interested to see how long the ‘old one’ will last again, before I get the dreaded battery message.
