Which gearbox and torque convertor will fit?
Hello!
Which gearbox is suitable(will work) and are there any other solutions? Does the new(read: used) gearbox have to have the exact same torque convertor or are some variations also suitable?
Engine: 646.821 R4 diesel[30 152916]
Current gearbox 722.699 w 5 a 330 [07 193523}
Torque convertor: A2092500902
Background:
W211 e200 atm gearbox, stopped working. When the car stops on the spot, it won't start moving again. Can change gears manually, etc., but doesn't start moving. After standing still for a bit, everything starts working as if nothing is wrong, but only for a short time. There are no strange voices or anything.
The gearbox was removed in a workshop and there were a lot of metal debris around the magnet and in the oil. - (At the moment i have no information about error codes)
Anyway, the gearbox probably must be changed and it seems to be hard to find one with the same torque convertor, so that's why the questions above.
