Slight audible engine "hollow sound" @80km/hr
Owned since new. 0w40 oil change every 8-10k km. Never driven hard or above 120km/hr. Stock configuration.
Mainly open highway driving.
I have very good hearing.
@120k km, my vehicle developed that slight occasional knock (suspected piston slap) at idle which you can hear best when idle in an enclosed car park.
However, at 80km/hr I have detected a slight almost inaudible "hollow tin can warble" which increases with engine RPM /speed whilst driving.
This sound is not heard when the car is stationary and I rev the engine. It only comes whilst driving.
I suspect it is related to the piston slap but would like someone to confirm or comment otherwise.
I have never used Moly Engine Flush but thinking to do so and change to Molygen 5w40 if that may help.
Thankyou.
