08 E350 4matic front struts (sprt) billstien replacement search

It seems very hard to find the right (2113236600) side billstein front replacement struts for the sport suspension (both 2113236600 & 2113236500). Those are the most affordable ones that i have had experience with on my other cars, they seem to be backordered everywhere, I was going to opt for the Sachs at FCP but now they are backordered, I wonder whats going on, its being months since when i first started looking for those replacements and no one seems to have them. Anyone else been searching for them?

They have them at rockauto.com also. No need to get them at FCPEuro as they charge $171 for theirs and Rockauto is $131 but if you're getting the pair, shipping for me was $10 and the 5% discount code made them slightly cheaper after the discount code. I got them back in 2020 and they were $119 back then. That's inflation. Bilstein has a lifetime warranty anyway so there's no need to buy them at FCPEuro for the lifetime warranty.

I got the pair, I didnt see them at the time on Rockauto, but i did check about a month ago and they were the same price (i assume because they were shipped directly from the man) and i got the alert for FCP and everywhere else had them for the same price when I initially looked. I even considered the Sachs but they have rocketed up in price also.

That's strange, they were always cheaper on rockauto. Rockauto wasn't that great with indexing them, didn't show up under my year, but when I looked for the part number, they were there. They were always the cheapest, everyone else always wanted more and I've done the lifetime warranty with them before.

how many miles on originals? I have the big amg 2009 18 inch wheels that ruin the ride anyway but at 110k the shocks seem fine.

the seemed to fail at 170k, the passenger side is leaking, I have the same wheels to just in chrome....also i spoke to soon on the struts, I was waiting on them to be shipped and received a message today.

Hello Cale,

Thank you for your order with us!

I'm reaching out regarding the BIL-24260749 you purchased.

Unfortunately, our supplier has notified us that this particular option is now backordered without an ETA of when we will be getting more in stock.

If you would like, I would be more than happy to substitute that for the Sachs equivalent linked below, we would just need to charge the original payment method the difference:

https://www.fcpeuro.com/products/mer...mer-2113236600

If this works for you, please let me know and I will take care of modifying the order. If this doesn't work for you, we can of course cancel and refund the part/order as well.

These of course would not be a matching set anymore, but if you would like us to cancel and refund the order in it's entirety so you can order a matching set, the matching opposing side can also be found here: https://www.fcpeuro.com/products/mer...mer-2113236500

I’m so sorry for the trouble, whichever you would prefer is fine with us. I look forward to your reply!

Well the Sachs part was OEM but that's $310, Rockauto had the Bilstein for $131 but it's also out of stock now. I guess you have to jump quick when they have them in stock. If you're not in a rush, I'd wait to save $180, but if you need it, I guess you need to spend it.

That was the thing, FCP said they were backordered 2 months ago then all of a sudden they weren't, I put in my order quickly (a week ago) and then they contact me yesterday (the day the shipment was supposed to have arrived) to say that they were sorry but they are backordered, again. I will just wait to see who gets them first and then will reorder. I would like to have them because of the ride quality but I dont have to drive that car as much so I will just wait until RockAuto gets them in, because your right they're way cheaper there.

Did you also order front springs? Mine were riding a little low but was higher afterwards. There's also stories of the breaking but usually only at the top or bottom so it isn't actually noticeable until you take it apart aside from being a little low. There's also a strut mount bearing under there but you could probably reuse the bump stop and bellows. Don't forget to set the ring clip on the strut for the ride height, common mistake.

Thanks again, I had reached out to Billstein when i first made this post and they replied to me a week later saying that FCPEuro would be getting a shipment (of the left strut) around June 9, needless to say i wasn't purchasing from FCP...Rockauto got them in stock last week and I ordered and received them this morning, about to wait until it cools off some (im in Houston) to install them. Thanks again for the heads up on them, I also used the 5% discount code I had to knock some more off. $289.81 for both
