I hate it when this happens ...
Just look what I saw yesterday morning.
Someone tried to rip off both my stars, in which they failed ...
I say no more!

The first picture is what I saw that morning and the second is after the dudes at MB Bähr polish to fit a new star.
Actually they f'ed up a little bit, so I get a paintjob for free (the whole 'tailgate').

I've only had a star stolen off one car once, and it was a clean job, and it was off my beater (so no more hanging out in Hunters Point).
Hope it looks good when finished!

:v I would go ballistic.... but why the tailgate when there is a beautiful star on the bonnet? Did you complain to the Police? I realise the garage 'finished off' the job, but the first 'Criminal Damage' (English arrestable offence) was committed by vandals. Were they smudges or juicy finger prints around the damage. It is sad to see wanton mindless vandalism. No doubt it was committed by a poor misguided, misunderstood person that needs better support from our careless soceity.
If memory serves me correctly Wobbles country had a very good way of dealing with these types of criminal

A very angry John

They tried to take the star in front, but they stopped when they couldn't get it off (apperently). It was bent forwardly and I got the "clicking" sound bending it back. No visible damage on that one.
However, the funny thing is that the stars, combined, costs 20 €... So this is clearly vandalism.
I'm thinking of putting up a camera with motion-detector in my poor carport. I just would like to kick "that guys" ****. And frankly speaking, I think they are dutch. I live 200 meters form the border and most of the stuff happening in my area are done by dutch people (I know I shouldn't generalize, but at this point I can't help it).

Now if there were two of them and they spoke it would be ""Double Dutch""
(English humour which might not travel)
I am pleased that the Police are involved. What a shame though that you have to consider putting up a video camera to protect your own property.
Take care,
John

Your memory is impeccable, and yes, Singapore does have tough laws against vandalism - and in this instance, I have to say I approve of them. Vandalism is all at once a nuisance and a cowardly act. At least TheQ got a free paintjob at the garage
