What are these markings in my transmission?

2005 E320 CDI
What are these markings in my transmission?
Replacing the conductor plate on the transmission and I see these marks on the underside of housing. Looks like someone took a wire wheel and abraded the surface in lines, but obviously it's something mechanical, not manually done by someone.
As far as I know, this is the first time in 280k miles the transmission has been opened. What am I looking at? Is this of concern?

Not a concern, just some cleaning done with a flap disc after a casting process.
