Intake manifold replacement

2008 e350.
I had the dreaded plastic arm actuator piece break. I was going to install the aluminum repair piece but decided to just replace the entire manifold. I purchased one that lready comes with the aluminum upgrade piece. My question is do I need to lube or grease any of the internal flaps or anything else before installing? If so what type of lubricant should I use?

No lubricant needed. It gets gummed up from the oil from the oil separator/breather cover. Those go bad and allow oil into the intake and it coats the flaps as they're baked on by the heat. You should change those two items also. I'm not sure the aluminum is actually an upgrade. That piece breaks off first to let you know it's time to replace the manifold. If it doesn't then pieces of the flaps will break off and fall into the engine causing additional engine damage.
