ABS, ESP and BRAKE warning

2004 E500 4Matic Wagon, with 242000 miles

I can't read any codes with my current OBDII scanner, but the warning lights come on, on the dashboard only after driving a half a mile or so, and then stay on.
After turning the vehicle off, and back on again, the warnings re-appear after driving a half a mile.
The error codes don't seem to be stored, as there are no MALFUNCTION warnings on the dashboard when there is no warning lights on the dashboard.

I was initially thinking maybe SBC error C249F, but now I am not so sure, as I believe that would show up as soon as the ignition is turned on?

Get a scanner that can MB specific codes. There's multiple possibilities, I'm thinking steering angle sensor. Usually if it's a brake light sensor, that comes on right away or as soon as you tap the brakes, same with speed sensors or magnetic ring, those usually come on right away as it can't get a reading. There's a few other things like the yaw sensor, bad ECU or something else but not as as common. Only way to know for sure is to get the scanner and read the code.
