Airmatic Conversion

Hi, everyone. I was wondering if anyone has any information about doing a coil conversion on a W211 sedan. A while back, my AirMatic was acting up. It kept going up really high which looks stupid and gives a rough ride. It stopped doing that for a while but now it's doing it again. I know AirMatic failures are pretty much inevitable, so I'd like to go ahead and convert to coils. I was wondering if anyone could recommend a kit or just general tips for the process. I've seen Suncore, Strutmasters, and Arnott so far. I've heard terrible things about Strutmasters and Arnott is really expensive so right now, I'm leaning towards Suncore. If anyone has any information, please let me know! Thanks!

4MATIC air to coil conversion here. I went with Strutmasters and I love not worrying about air leaks, getting stranded on the street, and fearing that I would wake up to go to work and find my car slammed to the ground.

I chose Strutmasters because the rear coil count resembles OEM E350 rear coils. Arnott’s rear coils seem to look less durable and coil count is less than OEM spec.

So far, about 4 months in and the car behaves just like air ride without the weight.

i don’t know anything about suncore.

Strutmasters rear Coil

Arnott rear coil

i will miss raising and lowering the car though

I experienced the same thing with my 2010 E550 2020 before the driver side went bad in 2021. The other airbags were going ridiculously high trying to make up for the bad airbag. I went with strutmasters and am happy with it thus far.

Final product

For anyone interested, I decided to go with Strutmasters kit ME14FM. The kit was $850 and the labor was $800 for a total of $1650. My mechanic said that it took 16 hours in total with the front being much easier than the back. Overall, I am very happy and honestly I think it rides better than air. Although I've only had the kit for a few days, I have found none of the bad things said about Strutmasters to be true. Photos below. I am a happy customer!
