E350 sport staggered tire wear
Hello,

I have an 08 E350 with the Sport package, which has the double-spoke 18" rims. The tire setup is staggered and even with the rotation side to side I get about 12k miles from 540 thread rated Michelin Pilot Sport A/S 4s in the rear. The front ones have lasted quite a bit longer. The wear is regular and uniform. Is that the normal wear everyone else is experiencing? The car is aligned and has OE Sachs shocks with about 60k on them.

It has the regular sport suspension. Also, no components are worn to the point they need to be replaced. All links were refreshed when the shocks were changed.

Also, what pressures are you running your tires at?

sometimes shops set them too low, @32psi.

I check them once every two weeks or so. I keep the pressures at the recommended levels shown on the door jamb.

How different are those from the one suggested on the fuel door? In some cars there can be up 8 psi different

Exactly the same when it comes to driving under 100mph. They advise more pressure when driving faster and/or having more load in the car. Most of the time I am by myself.
