My ‘08 E300’s battery recently died as I left the dome lights on overnight, the car did struggle a bit on the boost to get going needing 3 tries. Upon successful boosting, I received an SRS error message, code 9038 48/2 as the component or signal to component has been shorted with the component in question the passenger frontal acceleration sensor. The warning light did go off and on for a day or two and now is permanently on. Any advice on how to go about fixing this? I.e. is this a manageable DIY job or should I take to the dealership (where there is a risk of triggering the airbags)? And where there is a possible short upstream, is there any spots to be aware of ?
