VMI Request!!
Hi, I've seen other posts where people were able to provide access to people wanting their VMI. I was just curious if anyone could do that for me. If not, how would I go about getting it? I purchased vehicle via private sale, not through a dealership. Thanks in advance.

The VMI is pretty much through the dealer. You have to make an appointment there for service and ask for it when you make the appointment. I think in the past when someone offered to give them out, they got in trouble so had to stop and I haven't heard of anyone being able to give them out in a long while. You could just have them do a PPI which would be a post purchase inspection in your case instead of a pre-purchase inspection. Should only be 1 hour but if you keep an eye out for the car, they might be done in less than a half hour. But get the VMI first when you show up in person to make the appointment, they're not going to give it to you over the phone. If they won't give it to you, cancel the appointment and find another dealer that will.
