W211 OM642 Manual transmission clutch
Hi, guys,
So I have been searching for a while, and failed to find similar situation. I got 2008 E280 (W211) with OM642 engine and manual gearbox, from factory it came with 140 kW (188 HP). My clutch failed so I changed it myself. Now I plan for summer to change timing chain, because tensioner is stretched out (not great not terrible, but I want to make it like new). So here comes my problem: Car is OK, But sometimes I want a little bit more power so after chain replacement and oil pump inspection I want to increase power. So for chip tuning, they say, it can reach up to 190 kW (260 HP) and 600 Nm I think that's more then enough for me. BUT will my new clutch be strong enough to handle it? Have anyone dealt with situation like this? What I found is that the same clutch goes for OM642 with 165 kW tune from factory.
