Do wheels/rims make a difference?
Do wheels/rims make a difference?
Heard something interesting from a store that sells aftermarket rims. He said that the E is very picky about rims and tires. If you get the wrong size it will disable ABS and can do other bad things because the car see's a different rotation figure than expected (or something to this effect). Does anyone know anything about this? I have winter rims (16 inch) and winter tires (dunlop winter sports) that I was planning on putting on but now I am a little concerned.

hehe i think they are just trying to scare u ... u know "liabilities" so they will come back in the future with "i told u so"
anyway ... but there is a point to that statement. Here is my take. E class can take wheels to as big as 20 inch ... now depending on how much comfort u r willing to sacrifice with it ... i have done my research and i would go with 19 max.
Go with 8 - 9 in front and 9 - 10 in the back ... tires 245 front and back is 275
that's standardt ... and it wont mess up ur abs ... never caz the new E is designed differently.
Hope this helps ...
