Internittant limp mode question
recently the transmission began shifting slowly from 1st-2nd early in the morning, worse when it was cold. I performed a transmission service, with a new filter, conductor plate and fresh fluid. Everything seemed fine for a few days then while driving between 25-40 mph the dash would seemingly reset and say display defective, esp unavailable, srs light, cel, but only for a second or two. It would stay in the same gear it was in at this point but has cleared up within a moment or two and drive perfectly fine.
the srs light remains on, no stored codes with the simple reader that I have.
Any thoughts as to what I should check first? This isn’t the only vehicle that I have available to drive but I enjoy it and don’t want to retire it just yet-even though it’s 20 years old.
