Hi friends, first post here (made sure to do a quick search before making this thread)

I have an 08 e550 RWD with the dreaded p0017, p0018 codes and instead of pulling the engine and rebuilding it I’ve opted to find a donor car.

during my searches I found a low mileage CLK550 with unrepairable rear end damage. It has the same 5.5l v8 engine so I’m wondering if the swap would be anything more than just having to reprogram the ECU at the end!

other options include traveling pretty far, so just hoping I can scoop this local clk550 and make my baby drive again

 

Don't need to reprogram the ECU. Reuse the existing ECU in your car

 

the engine will work though right? Looking through pictures they look the same I just need some sort of security here before I buy anything
