'Top gear' magazine votes 'E' best Exec.
Top Gear magazine (UK publication) have published an Autumn special on their choice of top cars on the road today.
The E series gets the No1 slot for best executive car.

"Executive car" is a term not usually seen in the U.S. Doesn't it refer to the kind of car that large companies lease for their executives? A leased car is a common perk for British corporate types, but not so much in the U.S. Having a car leased for you by your company relieves you of some of the concerns that people who own or lease themselves have - like the effect on trade-in value or residual value of a car's bad reputation for reliability.

And the ML is the worst car in their survey according to owners...in terms of quality, reliability and dealer service.
Top cars in the survey was the Honda S2000, and the Jaguar XJ8.
The Mbz brand came lower, 17th i think. Not bcoz of the cars but mainly the attitude and service by arrogant MBz dealers which seems to be a common theme in US too.

I take your point on executive i.e. company perk. Whatever, it is good to see it rated positively for quality and realiability. Please accept the original post as passing on good news.
