P0393 CEL error on W211 E280 petrol sedan
Over the last 4-6 weeks, I've been getting a P0393 CEL error on my 2007 W211 E280 sedan. Now I've had ALL the camshaft sensors replace by my indy mechanic over 12 months ago. More like 18 months.
They weren't genuine MB sensors, but they weren't ebay cheapies either! Could the sensors have failed again? Or is something else at fault?
I cleared the code about 2-3 weeks ago, and it came back again yesterday.
All advice appreciated.
check actual values
check sensor voltage
check crank cam signals
All of these done with MB XDOS diagnostic system or equal----run away from your last mechanic and find someone with factory or equal diagnostic software, however you may just say FI and install a new MB sensor
I actually have access to two local mechanics. One that is nearby and does my basic servicing and another that does have the Mercedes diagnostic equipment.
But what gets me is how the error arises. Like I have cleared the error twice now, and then it returns about 1-2 weeks later. If it was a faulty sensor, wouldn't the error return straight away when I start the engine after clearing the code? That's what gets me. Or can sensors do strange things?
