Replaced the Fog Light Lens Assemblies - W211/E350
Aloha.
The reflective coating inside the lens cases have yellowed over the years. That makes the white emitting LED bulbs look like you still have halogens.
I thought of applying something like a silverplate polish but I figured it's too much work.
I opted to simply get replacements.
With the help of a youtube video (see Method 1 video below), the process went relatively smoothly.
Pretty easy and straightforward. The video below describes it so much better than having me type it here.
A few simple tools are required: T20 bit torx screw, T20 socket, 8mm socket, and a socket driver.
To raise the front end, I got a pair of ramps that work with a low car like mine.
Links for the replacement fog light assemblies and the ramps are provided below.
.
Method 1 Video: Raising the front end and doing the work under the car. This is the method I used.
.
Method 2 Video: For those who aren't able to or don't want to raise the front end, you can access the fog light assemblies from inside the front fenders in front of the tires.
