E220 CDI limp mode
I have a intermittent problem with my 2003 E 220 CDI (VIN: WDB2110061A225050).
The problem is it occasionally goes into a limp mode, I would say once every 1000 KM or so. Since I mostly drive on the same relation it almost always happens at the same place. It goes like this, I do 600 KM of highway then around 250 KM of city driving and it happens on the first drive outside of the city usually when on a high load. After I restart it it drives normally for a couple hundred km and then the circle starts again. Also, I noticed, that when I floor it, pressing the kick-down switch, it kinda loses power and turns on the engine light, as soon as I let it go it returns to normal, and the light goes away. But if I press the gas all the way, without pressing kick-down, it works fine, or if I drop a gear manually.
It threw a few codes correlating the gas pedal and some kind of valve on the turbo, but when the shop checked it out, it worked fine.
Hope somebody can help or guide me on what should I check next.
Channel 1 over voltage or similar error put the car into limp mode when kick-down switch is depressed. Xentry shows smooth 0-100% signal on throttle Channel1/Channel2. More investigation required.
