W211 Driver Side VC Repair Consult

After meticulously cleaning my valve covers, per ole Kent at MS I was all ready to reinstall these on my 2004 E500 Wagon with 169k on the clock and realized where one of the breather screws goes into the vc, the bottom of the casting of that tapping had broken off (photo attached). When I last did this job, poorly by the way, and by that I mean I did not use enough sealant on the breathers, and when screwing in the breather screws to 2NM and then 4NM, I heard one faint pop, thought I stripped the threads, but unscrewed and checked, all good, and then tightened to torque.
I obtained the ss breather screws from the dealership, so they are the correct specs, ie would not have bottomed out the tapping.
My question is, can I epoxy/JB weld this tapping inside the vc and hope it holds, or should I just toss it and get a new one.
I have to replace the oil level sensor next, so yes I will hope that tiny piece is in the pan or the intake screen.
Thanks
