Grinding noise coming from engine
08 E350 70k miles making horrible grinding noise in the engine Bay Area. It sounds like it was coming from the front so I thought it would be the idle pulleys. I replaced both and the belt and still have this noise.
it happens both at idle and when driving. What should my next move be? Could it be a rod?

For the power steering pump do I just change the pulley or the entire pump?

You stated you changed the 2 idler pulleys, what about the tensioner pulley?

With a vehicle that age, i would change the ps reservoir for sure. It has a filter built inside of the housing that will most likely be clogged up at this point. at least that is the case with the M113/W211 Es. Not sure if it pertains to the W212. If your PS fluid is still a nice green color, then you may be ok.
