Car doesn’t coast smoothly

08 E350 70k miles does anyone else’s E350 feel like it lags or slows down when you let your foot off the gas? The car doesn’t coast smoothly. I’m the second owner so im unsure if this is normal or not.

thats very subjective-------is the car in gear or in N when you say you coast----is the road flat or hilly----what type of road surface-----bla bla bla

it’s in gear. Automatic transmission. Flat road. When. I let the gas off it lags or slows down. Doesn’t coast smoothly. If I press the S button it coasts a lot better.

Well, what you're feeling (imo) is the car deceleration while in gear. Whether in comfort mode (c) or sport mode (s) there's going to be deceleration when letting off the gas. Sport mode allows your car to adapt to your driving style, it allows the car to rev higher (rpms tac higher) and seemingly is the way most prefer to drive their mb. C is comfort mode and is "lazy" compared to s mode. It all depends on your driving style, how you drive etc. I prefer s myself, but you're also driving your car. Not me. I've had to do a LOT of reading and research to figure a lot of things out myself, but it's worth it. All in all, it seems your benz is working fine. Let's hope it stays that way lol.
