C2804Matic & E350
Code P2006 B17/8 P0110

Recently I had the opportunity to buy a used 08 E350. The car looked great inside and out and rode very smooth. 2 owners, older man bought it new and had it maintained at the dealership up until 85,000 when he died. At that point his 60 year old son used it and had it maintained at a respected Indy mechanic. Presently, the car has 117,000 miles, the now 66 year old man wants to sell the E350 and buy a Tesla. Only problem is, I ran the HT-500 Bluetooth OBD2 scanner I bought at Walmart for $50.00 and it brought up a pending and stored code P2006 ( in bold red color) The description of that code on the Innova Repair Solutions app ( the company who makes the OBD2 for Walmart ) is as follows P2006 MERCEDES-BENZ "B17/8 (Charge Air Temperature Sensor) (P0110). On the Innova website they claim on a Mercedes a P0110 means the following P0110 MERCEDES-BENZ "Intake Air Temperature Sensor In Component B17/6 (Right Intake Air Temperature Sensor, Located On Left Side Of Engine)".

It seems everyone in these forums who gets a P2006 code has the dreaded intake manifold issue. However, on the Innova website,https://www.innova.com/pages/dtc-library they have a page where you use a drop down menu selector for the vehicle manufacturer for each code. Odd thing is the P2006 code on a BMW for example (most others as well) its described as a stuck flap on the intake manifold. I don't understand. People here on a Mercedes forum with a P2006 all "seem" to have confirmed the intake manifold is the issue. The car I looked at had recently been inspected (Massachusetts), ran great and had no check engine light. I currently have a C280 with the same M272 engine, I moved those levers on the outside of intake manifold, got resistance and a snap back, so I know how to test for it. However, the man is an hour+ drive from me and I cant ask him to pull the engine covers off and test it for me. Can anyone tell me why the codes on my Repair Solutions 2 app and the Innova website say one thing and real people here in the forum are saying otherwise. Lastly, I can get some additional detailed technical data from the "freeze frame" if that helps. Thanks in advance to anyone who responds.
