I have some front end damage. The body shop wrote the quote for just under the amount that would cause a total loss (I want to keep the car). They said if they remove the bumper and find any damage underneath, it'll be totaled, and they said I could buy a prepainted bumper and do it myself. I'm confident in my abilities to do this. However, I'm not sure what a good source for a prepainted bumper is. Does anyone have recommendations, or places to avoid?

Well that's not very nice. There are many options on Google. I'm asking for recommendations for reputable sources from the MB community, who I thought would be helpful enough to provide their experiences, good or bad, in suppliers, and I trust the enthusiasts more than sketchy online reviews.
I've been on car forums for over 20 years, which lead to meeting many people and creating new memories and hobbies. I've always endeavored to be welcoming and assist other members.if.i had the knowledge to do so. Forums usually are far better than ****ty Facebook groups or discord groups for providing honest feedback from users with a known history of helpful replies. If I'm in the wrong place for that, let me know and I'll happily sign up elsewhere.
@oakback I too need my front bumper (and pass quarter panel) to get a fresh coat of paint. They need the whole car to get a decent color match.
To that, when my car goes in...I am marking all of the surrounding panels wtih FIRM directions to NOT touch, paint, touch up, polish or otherwise mess wtih any panels but for the front bumper and the other panel....they need to get it right, not try to blend it in.

most don't come painted (some are primed if your lucky) or will not watch the car as the color has been aged. i changed my front bumper and just gave it the spray can with the same color code and looks decent until your 3 feet from the front bumper and the sun shines in different angles. might help if i gave it a clear coat but that's the cheapest way.

I have used https://paintedautobodyparts.com/ for other cars in the past and had good service. I had gotten a hood for a 2010 Audi A4 that showed up damaged and they immediately sent a new one and told me to recycle the damaged one.

The older I get the more and more I am (willingly) turning into a curmudgeon. Some say I should watch a bit less Jordan Peterson on YouTube. But, at least now I know 100% I am a sigma............
