Burnt rubber smell
I have a burnt rubber smell which, after sniffing around seems to be concentrated in the area of the front of the engine, drivers side in front of the coolant reservoir. It doesn't smell like coolant and the level was down a little but I topped it up. It's not the tires but the smell is like a hot tire. Any suggestions to what I can start looking for? I'm also getting a mild groaning sound when turning the wheel at a stand still only if that has anyone to do with it.

Other areas to consider include the airpump on the top RHS of the engine as well as the alternator, and the auxillary, electric water pump.
